Heartburn or retrosternal burning sensation
According to health experts, gastric acid starts forming due to not eating food. There can be many reasons for this. Gastric acid can directly irritate the esophageal mucosa. As a result heartburn or retrosternal burning sensation is felt. However, some research suggests that fasting, especially intermittent fasting, can improve acidity and heartburn. A research published in the ‘Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology’ showed that eating or fasting should be done in a pattern. Like- fasting for 16 hours and eating after 8 hours. This may improve the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
